  1. I HATE that this question has been stolen by philosophers rather than scientists. Philosophy can only offer theoretical logical postulations, which may be wholly untrue in spite of how they appear. I am intellectually curious about the nature of the universe, not about Craig or Russells mere MUSINGS on the nature of the universe. And Russell's so-called fallacy of composition was incorrect, falling into a definitional failing. "Every man has a mother" what do you mean by man? What do you mean by mother? Even if I am charitable and grant the implied meaning for these things, why COULD it follow that mankind has a mother? Mankind defines a totally separate entity. Also, what the hell is wrong with a brute fact?! You may not be comfortable with "because it is" as an answer, but the universe isn't organised to make you feel comfortable, it just is.
