  1. It's not her job to provide evidence to anyone. The ruling party is elected to govern, not to justify their every action. If people don't like it, vote them out next time around.

  2. I obviously didn't make myself clear. It is not the job of ANY elected official to report back on the minutiae of day to day operations. We entrust them with the job of taking actions only based upon sound reasons. It is not our right to know WHAT those reasons are. Would you expect to know the details of every spy we have operating around the world, or the exact intelligence they provide? Of course not. By the same token, we have been told that this nerve agent is of a type and grade only manufactured by the Russian military. That's MORE information than we needed. I don't expect to be informed how we know about the grade of Russian nerve agents, or what our technology is for detecting it. These are operational details whose revelations may lead to a less effective security operation.

  3. I'm certain that Putin would be delighted to hear you dismiss everything as hysteria. He sits on the planet's largest nuclear arsenal, whilst Russia is the only nation to seize the territory of another sovereign nation since the end of the 2nd world war in contravention of the Geneva convention. It continues to violate the air space of other NATO members, whilst it murders any opposition within the country or abroad. I don't think hysteria is really the word I'd use.

  5. I must congratulate you on a most excellent reply. I don't know whether all of your facts are correct - I will have to go away and research as some contradict "facts" that I had been given, but your thoughtful and dignified posting gives me much to think about.
