If the court could not determine his innocence in this matter, I'm really surprised that everyone in the comments below seems to have such certainty. It's almost as if the fact that Depp is a lovable rogue whose been in lots of great movies and has that lost waif vibe makes people automatically take his side. I like Depp too, but I'm not seeing whatever enables everyone else to simply ignore his conviction and declare him innocent.

@mimseydemon1844 Okay, a civil suit. The judge still found that he was guilty of the accusations.

@mimseydemon1844 I didn't know that HE was the one that sued so this was not a matter of knowing "the very basics of law" you patronising ass." But either way, the court STILL found that the claims by Heard were "substantially true." I'm not saying they WERE true - I'm saying that a judge who was a lot better acquainted with the details than YOU thought they were.

But surely, if he's guilty, he should not be able to restore his reputation? If he's innocent, why did he not appeal the conviction?
