For all the morons below talking about "reasonable discipline" the second you start hitting kids, especially in the head, you leap way over the line to assault. The size difference alone should disgust any reasonable person, but America is a nation ruined by it "Biblical values". "Spare the rod spoil the child comes from the OLD TESTAMENT book of Proverbs. The same book that teaches that it's acceptable to kill your children for disobedience, and that it was acceptable for God to send bears to eat children.

@julianmcmillan2867 If your parents beat the shit out of you, they weren't amazing. But agree broadly with you on everything else Julian. Hitting is about the release of anger, not just convenience. It makes the parent feel temporarily better. My mum used to hit me, then afterwards she'd cry and and ask why I made her hit me! I despised her for that. She was one accident short of killing me as a child. I love her, because that's emotionally ingrained, but in now way was she an amazing parent. I spoke to her about the violence a few years ago and her excuse was "Well that's what my parents did." Still not taking responsibility
