Both sides out of order here. Cop mildly throwing his weight around and totally making up the law. Citizen being a totally obnoxious douche. Cop losing control against asshole. No sympathetic characters in this exchange.

@txmack1 It's ridiculous to expect that you can be as abusive to police as you like, and they have to act like angels. Any other situation you started to be aggressive like that and you would rightly expect and deserve a broken nose. I would suggest the first argument by the cop was that he perceived the man's behaviour as threatening. He had repeatedly asked him not to keep jabbing his finger at him, which is often a precursor to violence. Obviously the assault was not mild, but the stuff leading up to it was.
