Are you fu**ing kidding? Security are not selected for their knowledge of basketball history! They'd be bad at their job if they DIDN'T ask for his ID. The sense of entitlement here is sickening.

So security should all be fans of the sport they work at, and pass a history test to work there huh?

@TheTruthDragonNJ09 I don't know how many security would be at this venue - hundreds I suspect. How many former players - thousands? I definitely would not expect them to waste their time learning the faces of every has been who might visit, or even current team and staff, when a 3 second ID check solves that problem. This is about ego, pure and simple.

@Sheaun A private venue can impose any admission rules they like, but clearly if this was prejudicial, I'd have a problem. I've worked at companies FAR less prestigious where I need ID to enter every single time. The fact that you think that low-paid, short term security should memorise every past player at an international sporting venue is incredible to me though. You clearly have different expectations to me.

@VMan29397 So you are saying at venue that hosts 320 events a year, across hockey, basketball, wrestling and music, to name just some, every member of security should know not only every CURRENT player and celebrity, but also every former one? You're an idiot.

@TheTruthDragonNJ09 "Stop being hyperbolic" According to the venue's own PR, they host 320 events there per year. How many famous people do you think those events generate over the course of a year, let alone over the decades? Maybe you're right, and low paid security staff ARE superhumans who attend a 7 day orientation and memorisation course before each and every event to ensure that every single one of them knows the talent stretching back decades, but personally, I doubt.

@TheTruthDragonNJ09 I respect your experience in the job. I'm just amazed at your expectations for the job. The fact that the venue was empty is a MASSIVE factor though!
