  1. It's as foolish to hold up this example, as it is to compare Cuba and the USA. Countries are massively complex systems with a million different factors contributing to their weath or failure beyond their current political system. Unless you can normalise for ALL of them, it's like looking at a volcanic landscape on Earth and comparing it to a cryo volcano on Titan. Just because they have the word "volcano" in does not make them comparable.
