@Steve_Hayden Then what does it matter if he was resisting arrest? You implied that this was somehow the acceptable consequence of resisting arrest. Given that police ROUTINELY brutalise and kill innocent people in America, including those who are subdued or comply with arrest, it amazes me that they don't get fired upon every single time they attempt to make an arrest.

@Steve_Hayden Irrelevant that they went to get a fire extinguisher, just as it was irrelevant that Kim Potter tried to help the man she just shot, also whilst resisting arrest. If they hadn't been reckless, he'd still be alive - how about THAT cause and effect? I tell you another cause and effect, giving police harmful weapons and failing to train them in how to use them properly. Strange how you don't mention THAT.

@Steve_Hayden They didn't HAVE to fight him - police are trained in restraint. I'm not saying the guy was not a douche. Anyway, we've gone as far as this polite conversation will lead I feel. Thank you for keeping it civil Bobbie.

@Steve_Hayden There were 3 police and a single unarmed, drunk, middle aged man. The use of a taser AT ALL was excessive. YOU are the one making assumptions about all of my other thoughts. I'm not writing a narrative about them leaving him, or the fact that he caught fire. I am objecting to just two facts: 1. Excessive force 2. A habitual police practice of wanton disregard for safety.
