@MrKit9 At the age of 18, most kids are not smart enough to challenge received wisdom, and certainly not confident enough to go it alone. It's all part of the big lie.

@usucktoo College DOESN'T work for the rest of the world. College is increasingly saddling people with debt for jobs that will no longer exist. Automation is a massive threat. Outsourcing to the third world is a big intellectual threat. And wages are being driven down. College is an old paradigm perpetuated by governments without the balls to take meaningful action against predatory corporations.

@uncannyvalley2350 I'm not suggesting that everybody becomes a youtuber. I was merely illustrating a career that needs very little seed capital. Drop shipping on ebay, 3d printing, even gardening are all careers that can be started by enterprising young people. And you're missing the point. In an unstable employment market, with ZERO loyalty towards employeees, a university education is a $50,000 millstone that has no guarantee of a job, yet harms your credit record, impedes your ability to buy a house or even a car, and can be obsolete before you've finished the course. And that's if you even TOOK a practical degree in the first place!
