Hold on, weren't lots of these people told they HAD to work? And now they're not going to be paid? I thought slavery was dead in America except for its prisons and immigration holding camps.

@nickcason9543 These people lost their livelihood and accrued a month worth of debt for no reason except Trump's petulance and ineptitude. They deserve to be taken care of. Sometimes right is more important than rules.

@bhec7715 What is your basis for that certainty? After all America is a nation that allows its citizens to die because they can't afford health care and its police to get away with murder. It's clear that morality and integrity do not rule.

@nickcason9543 Regardless of the precise mechanics, this is all a direct result of Trump's petulant and inept negotiation tactics. I hope the man dies of brain cancer.

@3star2nr And they continually vote to allow corporates to have a disproportionate influence over "democracy".

@kennethbmann Hmmm. It'll be interesting to see how this all pans out. I hope it destroys the Republican's electability for a generation, but then as this is a weapon the Dems have also disgracefully weilded, I don't see it.

BLAIR M Schirmer How is it ANYONE'S right to declare "I don't like how much money you accumulate therefore I will simply steal it from you." You can use all the justifications you like but ultimately you are simply stealing from somebody because you don't like the way that they choose to live. By all means close every single loophole, give zero financial aid, award no contracts, take away lobbying and donor rights, but the second you place an earnings cap you are acting immorally AND stifling productivity.

@DigitalLibrarian And it's appalling. It amazes me that America could ever think that it's the greatest country in the world.

WPG S I don't think I'd go quite that far. I mean glucose can be quite fattening ;-)

@DigitalLibrarian That's truly disturbing.

@airgliderz The Democrats and Republicans were opposite parties back then. Between the 1860s and 1930, they each took up opposite positions. As for Democrats dividing the nation, THEY weren't the ones using the Southern Strategy right up until the noughties to provoke the greatest division the nation had ever seen, nor are they the ones STILL gerrymandering along ethnic lines. Trump is the most divisive president ever and the Republicans have flocked to his banner, so i'd re-examine your selective outrage on that one Alan.

@airgliderz I suggest you don't try to be clever with your obvious low IQ. Take your delusional ass to the back of the bus with the other special kids.
