  2. If it wasn't that the sexual act has such religious connotations, it would be less emotionally devastating. But I'm certain that it's the sustained lackof control over one's body in an uncertain, life-threatening situation that makes it especially unpleasant. I certainly think that "rape" within a relationship is a different ballgame.

  4. This story is hilarious. I wouldn't impose a death senence on him, but he may have imposed it on himself. What gets me is that he collapsed like a total wimp when told. To hell with how the woman might have felt when he raped her - no empathy there, but when it comes to his own life, he turns into a blubbering jelly. What a wuss.

  5. It was an asinine question intended to disempwer him by suggesting that unless he's also been raped, his comment is valueless. Some people get over rape very quickly, and others it haunts them forever. it's perfectly legitimate to ask WHY rape traumatises some people so badly, and even to suggest that possibly it's not the worst possible thing that could happen to someone. "why the hell do i even bother responding" Good question - when all you had to offer was mindless, populist inanity.
