I would just add, that pedophilia is a learned targetting of the sexual response. The reasons for such targetting can easily be understood in psychological terms. Undoing them is difficult because there may be strong emotional attachments to that targeting and resistance to giving it up. That psychologist was a total douche who doesn't even know his own discipline. If his comments are indicative of his skill, he should be struck off.

I believe that ANY anti-social behaviour can be cured with enough effort, but the problem is, sociopaths are very good at playing the "I'm cured game". If the recidivism rate for such crimes is only 10%, who could, in all conscience, allow any of them back onto the streets again? I believe that there should be safe, segregated communities where such people are housed indefinitely, or until we can understand their brains enough to be 99.9% certain they are cured.
