So long as it was the murderer, how many did they need to arrest? I just don't understand why the ref hung around...

Your entire premise is ridiculous. It's not the SPORT that causes the problems, it's the way the sport is handled. By and large, Amercans are FAR more aggressive that Britons, yet we've had numerous riots at socccer games. Why? Because the fans are penned in like animals, forced to stand for hours on end, and the entire tribal nature is accentuated by the allocation of seating. Its not the sport, it's the way that the sport is managed. How many riots in American soccer matches? None.

Oh give over. Like there's never been a riot at an Ice hockey or basketball game. Jeez, your Ice skater's MOTHER'S are assassins, your football players are rapists and murderers. You've got no right to take the moral high ground here. You give basketball players $100 million dollar contracts, your ice hockey and baseball leagues have gone on strike for months, and you talk about respect?! Puhleeease!

Players seem to think that they can assault officials with impunity. The thuggish player cost two lives with his stinking attiude. I know a kid who referees (a thankless job I might add) and he's been assaulted by grown men whilst volunteering his time to facililitate them playing their sport in the first place.
