  1. As someone with some experience of combat, I know that once you get into a situation on the ground, especially as the guy on the bottom, your attention is 100% focussed on the other guy. Even for Trayvon, taking his attention off Zimmerman's arms and head for a second would have been dangerous, so I find it very unlikely that either of them went for the gun. I suppose Zim might have gone for it in desperation, and once he's showed it, of course Trayvon is gonna want to take control of the weapon
