  2. @DOGS LOL I've worked with thousands of kids for 40 years, studied child psychology, and I work with kids daily. But yeah, nothing.

  5.  @Marlaina  It depends where you live. The freerange kids movement is a thing, and so long as they have food and a warm bed, I can see benefits. Indeed, there are now schools that deliberately allow a LITTLE bit of danger in the playground as that is also educational and character building. That said, I agree with your general premise about boundaries. I do think kids in the modern world thrive most effectly within reasonable boundaries. Then there are helicopter parents... In the middle are parents who impose sensible boundaries for the child's benefit, rather than because they have Victorian attitudes towards kids.
