That Neanderthal art is so touching. The man caring for the child 5:17, and the woman with a flower in her hair, while dad carries the toddler 5:03. So beautiful.

It would have been truly awesome to see these scorpions alive.
16
What a terrifying, magnificent creature. Oh to have seen one in action!

@RenzitoARG For starters, you don't KNOW that it was AI generating - you're simply assuming based on the lack of attribution. And secondly, yes, it's absolutely impressive that a machine can create art with emotional impact. We're just meat machines ourselves, and while I share your concerns about human jobs being replaced by computers, there are situations where it is simply not financially viable to pay artist rates.

I really love the passion and enthusiasm that presenters on this channel have. They all seem like really lovely people.
6
@RenzitoARG I really don't give a damn. I care about the emotional impact of the image, not how it was generated.
4
That picture of the dead guy and his friend is heartbreaking.
4
How very sad. But also fascinating.
4
@ASlickNamedPimpback Thank you.
3
What a horrific way to die.
3
Looking at the way hardcore Trumpists are behaving, I'd say Homo Naledi had FAR more humanity.
2
@ingoseiler Actually, those two images are not linked.
2
Take a breath, please. Fascinating nevertheless.
2
What a repugnant place. A literal death trap, and what a horrific way to go.
2
ROFL - priceless.

Why in the hell would ancient man descend so deep?!

That claim about meeting left handed people in fights is total nonsense. The average person is not going to be fighting other people often enough to be confused by lefties, much less are they analysing hand preference, either consciously or unconsciously, much less still in fights to the death where it could have an evolutionary advantage. The fact that PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS who spar thousands of times during training win more or less is a complete irrelevance to this issue.

Hmmm so being a male was not all beer keggers and football games then either...
1
All the millions of animals killed by those floods :-(
1
1 small lump of rock had such far reaching consequences and robbed this planet of so many incredible animals :-(
1
I wonder how many fossils will be discovered that totally change our understanding of some part of prehistory? I bet there are billions of incredible fossils just lying around if we only knew where to look. Just laying there in the dark, unloved and unappreciated.
1
What is it about science chicks that makes them so enthusiastic, and why is that so appealing? Also, love the top!
1
I'm here aren't I?
1
Totally shot your rant about the word "monster" in the foot when the first creature you presented had the scientific name "monster".
1
"The rich variety of North American life that will be preserved"? The sooner the dominant primates in North America are annihilated the happier the rest of the planet will be. I'll take a few dark cold years for that.

Taung child - poor little bugger :'(
1
@Bill_Garthright Lol - definitely wasn't planning on popping into my speedos for some swimming with the giant scorpions, but can you just imagine how incredible it would be to be in a shark cage with them around?
1
@Bill_Garthright Lol - that is SUCH a good point Bill. We really don't take enough advantage of the amazing opportunities available to us.
1
I find intelligence and enthusiasm extremely attractive traits in a woman.
1
Ahh yes, killing thousands of animlas in slow and excruvciating agony. All part of God's perfect plan. I feel so loved.
1
That beaver burrow design looks like a death trap waiting to happen: tunnel collapse, flooding, and and getting trapped by other animals.
1
Poor little buggers.
1
It's an amazing thought that man is now powerful enough that we could prevent that ever happening again.
1
@pakde8002 Not at all. If we can dig the Suez canal and stop the oceanfrom flooding the Netherlands, it's undoubtedly possible to dig a channel from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, especially as one (incorrect) theory about its restoration was water flown down a single waterfall.

leatherbacks can hold their breath up to 85 minutes!
