And East-Africa, Ceylon, and elsewhere. Turns out we Brit's did the world a massive favour re' availability and variety of Tea.
35
We should just dub him Pish Kumar, and ignore him as a peddler of disinformation.
34
Dandelion Tea (and Coffee) are British, both in origin and country of growth. Take that Pish Kumar! π

Orwell wrote Animal Farm as a warning about the evils of Communism, and of Authoritarianism in general. The specific regimes he nods to being Jacobin/Napoleonic France, and Stalin's USSR. He also pointed out that in the end; authoritarians (a busybody with power) all look alike, be they a capitalist (like Cactou) or of the left (like Lenin & Stalin [and innumerate others]). 1984 was set in a world where all Eurasia was under a Stalinist dicatorship. Orwell was of the left, but ever increasingly moved toward the liberal left during his life, away from the authoritarian left. Classical Liberalism is - in every meaningful sense - the diametric opposite to Socialism and its deriviatives; such as National Socialism and Communism. (not least that classical liberalism sees the ultimate arbiter of order [force] as a tool to be used as sparingly as possible, whilst authoritarianism requires the threat of / the public use of force [sometimes even gratuitously] against any & all opposition to the regime, for said regime to continue existing)

βΒ @seanbissett-powell5916Β Hmm, good point π

Pish Kumar's gotta Pish! π

@MrPerson61Β True. Would fit the world's ethos rather well too. The Imperium of Man after all is in a total war for humanity's very survival, where all must fight in some way, or all will perish. For some reason it reminded me of this Star Trek trivia detail: a Klingon [male or female] with no family or house to belong to will often sign up for military service, in order to then be able to win a mate and join/found a house.

Also: try reading comments before replying, as your retort makes no sense at all π .

I vaguely recall the ""british things"" when it aired, while trawling through channels one afternoon. As someone who'd read a lot of the original HH books by Terry Deary, the difference between the latter and the wokoid remoaner pish that that turd Kumar was farting out, was & is stark π . Horrible Histories is a bit like the Ladybird books. Stick with the originals; they're just better.

...said nobody that's had a good cup of Tea ever π

Luxury Authoritarianism; as the DM world is technically a [albeit broken as there's only monopolies with no competition] capitalist one. The writers though could have easily framed it as being a leftwing authoritarian regime though with minor alterations to the synopsis. (such as all public utilities and facilities being government owned, like in 1984) Authoritarianism isn't unique to any one economic theory, but it does manifest most easily under socialism and it's derivations.

@thechuckjosechannel.2702Β When the socialist-leaning UK Politicians & Media abandoned them* (Thatcher was notable in not leaning on South Africa as her predecessors had done, recognising it seems what the ANC were and always had been)

@safety_doggo2Β We need an alien menace for us Terrans to common cause it π . Even TerraPrime in Star Trek is notably all-inclusive re' which humans can join; the only qualification is being 100% Human.

βΒ @gilly9666Β Indubitably ππ Tea is also impossible to confuse with Instant Gravy, unlike Coffee π

βΒ @FrogScotch19-q4yΒ He's made a demonstrably factual statement, and you haven't π
2
Β @stalwartteakettlepotato9879Β Not really factually wrong. He made a prediction with his famous speech, and a decade later stated in tv interview (now available on YouTube) that his predictions about immigration figures, lambasted at the time as exaggerated, had been exceeded by the government. He wasn't a fortune teller, but he correctly predicted a measure of the funeral pire the government - via both malice & stupidity - was assembling.

β@Yomori-s9d Be quiet Sinosimp, and try reading what I stated properly, like an Intelligent person would π . Also nope: Tea is grown in India, Ceylon, East Africa and elsewhere because the British put the effort and money into breaking the Chinese [near] monopoly on the type of Tea we were after.
1
ββΒ @ΧΧΧ ΧΧΧΧΧ¨ΧΧ©ΧΧΒ Not really, as the potty mouthed twunt in-question missed the point I was making entirely, and instead decided to dump a load of unrelated prattle. Whether his claims have factual basis is irrelevant, as it wasn't the type of Tea I mentioned. He's also probably not Japanese, as fake accounts and bots are indemic here on YT ππ

Kind of fascinating that I'd never heard of Lowe a few days ago, yet if he founded a party of his own tomorrow I'd certainly back it π€ . Credit to the man for taking a stand on principle, and on those who've stood up and backed him by pointing out they've been subjected to similar. Farage has a gift for public speaking, but like Peter Hitchens likes to cite problems yet not to openly support their solutions when it comes down to it π€¦ββοΈ .

Amen. He's demonstrably an antisemitic racist too.
