@niclasjohansson4333 Aye. The RAF don't believe in half measures ;-) .

More like: Anything German: exists RAF: Omai wo Shinderu~

Bombs dropped are never "wasted", mearly Accurate or Inaccurate ;-) .

^ The definition of overthinking something XD. The points stand: 1. Death in the log cabin or aboard ship is equally likely in the event of a hit on either, making the Log Cabin no worse a choice. 2. Being in the Log Cabin is at least not being the thing the RAF are aiming at, and is on land, so drowning is at least impossible.

@CS-zn6pp Still better than Bearn's, which in turn was better than Germany's & Italy's ;) .

@dingledooley9283 Proportionately you're safe in niether option from a 12,000lb bomb, so you might as well take the Log Cabin ;-) .

@dingledooley9283 >Wooosh< The point was more that armour that isn't enough to protect you from a particular weapon, is no better than having none at all. (hence why distributed armour on ships faded out of fashion post-WWI) That; and the log cabin isn't the target, whilst the ship is.

Only took three in the end though ;) .

@AG3624C Actually no airforce at the time could hit very well from high altitude. Hitting the wrong town was commonplace, and being within 1 mile of the target was considered noteworthy.

@maxoforce2920 Nah; Prince of Wales mission killed Tirpitz's sistership with just three direct hits. Tirpitz also straight up ran away from a fight with USS Washington. The Bismarck class were impressive looking, buy like Scharnhorst and sister had to avoid combat with the RN, as even a minor action therewith risked either being dogpiled or getting away but damaged; both of the latter were in the UK's favour, as they outnumbered Germany for naval assets by about 8 to 1 😅😂 .

^ Well this proves there's such a thing as a meme nazi XD.

@Boxghost102 True, but three of them did most of the work. Given that usually it took thousands of bombs to destroy a typically sized factory (due to the comical miss ratio) the Earthquake Bombs did rather well.

Hmm... debatable :P

^ Lots of word salad, stating nothing. Your original postulation was a simplified concept, thus your over-analysis is as self defeating, as it also doesn't disprove either of my two points.

^x1 The Avro Lancaster is more than just a "legend", as several still fly today :P . The only way to see period German Warships today... is with a Submarine.

@Puckoon2002 Aye. They were designed with near misses chiefly in mind, though the armour peircing ability was well known from the start too.
