  3. @LennyCash777  My main point was Dissimilarity (and that it's how things should be) which most "European" [or West-Eurasian from a geology standpoint] are from one another. Doesn't mean that friendship and cooperation between countries in the region isn't a good idea; rather that grouping them together is implying some kind of homogeneousness that doesn't exist, never has and never will. I have no animosity for Portugal; if anything I'd say Portugal got rather a rough deal out of the last century, but unlike Spain has long been a friend of Britain; a Portugese Princess also accidentally introduced us to Tea in the 1500's... something we'd become rather partial to 😆👌 . A Brit' being distinct from a Portuguese man isn't a bad thing, rather a correct observation that while we're allies in various ways, we aren't the same as each other, and that to assume / claim as such rather sells both the UK & Portugal short.

The Constitution also had a near [sharp] encounter with a couple of larger RN Frigates during the 1812 war, but managed to decline battle... an encounter with a 1st rate like Victory at the time was unlikely though (most were off seeing to the french [again]), but would've been very interesting, as chasing other ships down was something Victory was unusually good at for a 1st rate. Oldest still floating warship the UK has today though is a Leda class Frigate, with her unusual never-masted sister ship HMS Unicorn.

  42. Have to say I agree with the UK Gov' on getting rid of "Preferential Voting", as only the left stand to benefit from over-complicating the voting system. FPTP works fine, so long as the Voter Turnout is High, Voter Fraud is kept low, and a None of the Above option exists, as a facility for those demanding better candidates to voice their displeasure. (as the politicians would have an incentive to make more of an effort to win over voters)
