  2. Define "success". It's hard to overstate how badly wrong live action adaptations can go; and as A:BA is basically the only one to pull it off so far, that makes it a high risk venture. If Japan went it alone with making such a thing though; that could work. (a bit like how Sony alone in the '90's produced a better and more successful games console, than gaming industry incumbent Nintendo working with a third party could, whilst also putting the ailing SEGA & Atari out of their misery in the process)
