Germany picked a fight in 1939 that they couldn't win, against a country that: • Geographically blockades them. • Was economically superior. • Was industrially superior. • Possessed a Navy over eight times bigger and better supported. • Had robust Oil supplies (Germany never had enough Oil for even domestic demand in WWI or II) • Had a global empire to depend upon.
