  1. A detail about Germany in WWII that's often glossed over, that makes the UK's food situation look well stocked by comparison. Then again the UK was ready for wartime rationing measures, having done it before to similar effect, during WWI, whilst the Kaiserreich gradually withered under naval blockade.

  2. Weirdly: Here in the UK we chiefly round up lbs into Stone (St) to measure ourselves, whilst in the USA they only use lbs. (and tons, albeit short ones relative to our tons & french tonnes) As such when watching a US documentary or film, hearing a quotation of weight like "230 pounds" just sounds like the guy who's being mentioned is rather expensive XD.
