(debunking basically everything you've stated hasn't been difficult) A~and really, "liars all" is the best you can come up with?. You do know that's what ALL politicians do as part of their job... right? :P . (not heard the ", his lips are moving!" joke I see, among other things) As for claiming I don't know you're claiming to being in the leave camp, you missed this: 'Ironic though that you say she should've gotten us out of the EEC (no easy feat at the time), yet belittle the UK and its overseas commitments, as all remoaners do.' Ironic also; because Thatcher would admit after leaving office (and its proverbial hall of mirrors concealing daggers), that we should leave the EEC. It wouldn't be until the latter turned into the EU though, that the grounds for another referendum - which Bliar considered as a public rubber stamping exercise but then chickened out on after fearing he'd lose - were there. Having two Referendums on the EEC was simply not going to happen, nor should've (neverendum situation much?). Gaining a pro-leaving majority on parliament though (as Peter Hitchens stated as his preference) and leaving the EEC manually, that would've worked... at MP's dissillusioned with the EEC made up enough of parliament in the late-'80's / '90's, which it didn't :/ . P.S. I voted Brexit Party once, when it suited to do so. After all I don't consider any MP that doesn't believe in the UK being an independent nation, or at least put the will of their electorate above personal ideology, as worthy of being an MP at all. In short: If the leave MP for my constituency most likely to win is blue, light blue, purple or otherwise; they'll get my vote :P . (said candidate probably will be tory, as they aren't stupid; my area voted out with a firm majority and over 80% turnout)

  3.  @stephenburnage7687  It's certainly not impossible. No leader truly rules alone, especially when considering civil servants etc. The nature of some events in political history remain subject of conjecture. It's what I'd call 'The Fog of Politics', but's typically known as 'behind the scenes'.

  6. As for french bliar banning referendums... colour me unsurprised. The UK after all was supposed to have a referendum in the early 00's on having changed from EEC to EU, for which Bliar founded the "Britain in Europe" campaign. (the precursor to the BSE) However Bliar lost his nerve, cancelling the entire matter, in case he lost. ("New Labour" being well known for chickening out of planned referendums, be they on devolution or the eu constitution & lisbon treaty) Cameron simply gave the British public what was required... albeit whilst trying to rig the vote with state sponsored propoganda.

  7. If Aus' does, we'll just look on as their politics becomes as farcical as post-1946 Italy*, shrugging while affirming "we told you so". *Though it's not far off ATM it seems. In a time of war we'd probably still help them, but would be less inclined to politically, than if they keep the status quo. (we didn't aid S-Africa in their war with Angola after all)

The UK - home also of the world's oldest continual currency - has surrvived numerous challenges over 316 years. The EU is falling apart after less than 21 years of existance... no prizes for guessing which the masses are going to bet money on which will still still around in 2120AD. In the meantime the EU[SSR]'s 27 captives will endlessly bicker over the single WTO Seat they have to awkwardly share, whilst the UK has one just like it all to herself ^_^ .

Of course they label National Socialism & Italian Fascism as the other side's issue, for the same reason they deflect responsibility for soviet genocides with "that wasn't real communism", and other vacuously glib machine speech, over and over again, like an autodialler with legs. Conservatism & classical liberalism on the other hand, are inherently geared the opposite way. That's why all shades of the left decry both, seeing them as weak and individual'centric.

  30. Your claims are also demonstrably false, as: 1. No regime outside Italy & Spain has ever labelled itself Fascist. (just like no democratic country has the word in its title, only brutal leftwing dictatorships) 2. Most neo-authoritarian groups - irrespective of policies - in the world today will admit that their ideology has roots in / common policies with socialism. 3. All regimes commonly labeled as "fascist" were deriviatives of socialism. (from naming conventions to policy) 4. Authoritarian regimes ban ALL opposition, of any sort. (with particular ire centered on classical liberalism)

  38. Have to disagree on FPTP Mahyar. It did work quite well, back when majority electoral turnouts (such as 70 - 83%) were typical, rather than the exception. AV and PR wouldn't solve the turnout issue. If anything PR has been proven to not work, even with high turnouts. (looking at you Weimar Republic & Northern-Irish assembly)
