I'm definitely proud of Monique for speaking up, but a couple of things came to my attention: *Monique is funnier and has a better resume, but Amy Schumer can draw a bigger, less "niche" crowd. Misogynoir is undoubtedly an issue, but so is supply and demand. *If Monique feels like she is worth more, then why didn't she fund the the making of her project if she was confident she'd make it back? If I can make more being self employed than what a job is willing to offer me, I'm going to PROVE them wrong by surpassing their offer on my own. *Would Monique have asked us to boycott and delete Netflix and would she have made so much noise about pay equality had she gotten her the pay she wanted the first time?
