  1. That's not how this works. Whether he only drowned an ant or committed the crime you said, the state STILL has an obligation to uphold a punishment that isn't cruel or unusual. This isn't about what the inmates did, it's about whether the state is properly carrying out punishment while upholding the 8th Amendment and the Constitutional rights of the inmates.

  5. They're not asking you to feel sorry for them, they're asking for their Constitutional rights (along with basic science and medicine) to be enforced.
