For everyone out there in the comments who claims that the October Revolution was pointless since it resulted in Stalinism, you might as well say the abolition of slavery was pointless since it didn't get rid of every single form of oppression. Through the October Revolution, Lenin, Trotsky and the Bolsheviks paved the way for the creation of the world's first workers' state. Annihilating illiteracy, raising life expectancy and the advances in science and gender equality are only soms of the many amazing results of the Bolshevik Revolution. And this might never have happened if Trotsky hadn't led the Red Army to victory and crushed the White Army. If it were 'communist' or even left wing, it would have far more support for universal health care and there wouldn't have been nearly as much opposition within it ( including from the Democratic nominee, Joe Biden ) to Bernie's policies. It's just generally too willing to compromise to the status quo.

If you advocate Christianity, I hope you understand the value of compassion and forgiveness and try to understand why folks who aren't white might be victims of racism instead of turning your back on them.

More Democrats in both the north and south voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 than Republicans. There's also the fact that it was Democrats who pushed the Civil Rights Bill through the House and Senate, and that it was a Democrat who signed it into law.

This is also supported by letters sent by Yakov Sverdlov to the local authorities, as reported by Nikolai Sokolov, who was a rabidly antisemitic and anti-communist investigator appointed by the White Armies (so not the type who'd be biased toward the Soviet government!). It is generally agreed that the actual order to kill the Czarist family was given by the Ural Soviet. Lenin, Sverdlov and co did ultimately approve the Ural Soviet's decision (exactly when they did this is unknown and also irrelevant for me, personally), but I think the notion of full responsibility on their part is far-fetched and ridiculous.

The Nazis constantly branded work done by Jewish people as 'cultural Bolshevism', and the KKK was labelling the American civil rights movement in the 1960s as a "communist plot". You got to such lengths to stand against movements for equality based on skin colour simply because you don't like the idea of equality based on class.

He was for states' rights not to recognise the rights of African Americans, just like the Confederacy. He clearly wasn't a hardcore civil rights reformer like Lyndon Johnson.
