And be glad you only got a kit that didn't work as you expected. You could have bought fake car fuses, where the one to blow up at 2 amps blew up above 8, which could burn your entire car down, with you inside, it if was electric and it didn't let you out.

Just billionnaires usually don't buy cheap knockoff... their edge, at most, is second hand. Still better than those cheap knock-offs.

Been on this planet long enough to follow my own instincts, and needs. Endorsed brands cost more. I don't buy them. I buy what I like/need and for the price I deem justified. And I block ads and change channels on the TV when ads jump into the content. Good luck in brainwashing a frugal being like me, using often basic ingredients and having fresh fruit for desserts. Right now it is the fantastic apples from my generous apple tree.

Watching til the end: was looking for an ssd storage. Across the search results there was a ribbon with one fake Aliexpress ssd next to another, about 7 of them presenting fake and cheap branded items. Enshittification of search engines. They don't care.

Just clicked to delete on the email from Scamazon about Black Friday sales, without even opening it. But I did browse individual web pages of brands and independent sellers for stuff I need for my computer to upgrade. Pretty p*ssed off that the vast majority of items in the browser's horisontal scrolling panel is for Aliexpress or Temu stuff, like 4TB hard drive for £29. Who are they trying to fool?

I sometimes consume meal replacements, having my reasons, but I also prepare many meals from scratch. Today it was a stew from fresh vegetables and chicken stomachs (not available in general supermarkets), addding frozen parsley greens at the end. With egg noodles, bought. Ddelicious.

Use Brave browser, no need for adblock even. If the youtube breaks it for a while, there is Brave Beta. Saved my sanity the other day. They will quickly fix the main Brave, in hours usually.

Speak for yourself folks. I have never created a Temu account and just bought a few Kingston memory sticks directly from Kingston. And it was cheaper than from ebay. Those buying from Scamazon or Aliexpress will be very disappointed. The other day a supposedly 16TB drive had just 64GB, writing and rewriting data, total scam.

@1pcfred I am not an electrician, Louis Rossman is. And he demonstrated that 2 Amp fuses will blov over 2Amp supply. A fuse failing at 4x the supply is fake. You should be able to rely on this stuff.

@1pcfred You make claims, so I would expect some more specific info. What does substantial mean in these terms? I referred to a tech man who said a 2 Amp fuse blowing at 8 Amp is dangerous.

@1pcfred That's fine, I just hoped you would quantify the inaccuracy from those studies you mentioned, to see where we stand. But if you can't, I can live with that. And I will continue holding a position that when fuses are sold on the merit that they are able to withstand certain current, they should.

A Linux switcher here, this year in Summer. All I can say is I have no brand identity whatsoever. Buying goods in discount shops, often copycats of brands, with a comparable or even better quality, clothes also, shoes I go for a quality and willing to pay extra so I don't need to replace them every season. I don't even consider myself having a nationality, I don't identify myself as any such label, being an expat. I am just me. Whatever product satisfies my needs and isn't overpriced, I'll go for it. I don't see a need to pay extra premium for apple products and my phone is maybe 6 yo. I'll keep using it for as long as it will work or satisfy my needs. I pride myself for being resourceful, this year refurbished my 15 yo laptop, replaced broken hinge, cleaned inside, repasted, upgraded, running Linux, too, while Microsoft would have sent it to the lanfill. Why on Earth would I throw it away? My old buddy is now Willma 🥰.

Temu has a few aims: break into the markets, ruin genuine producers and harvest users' data. All a conspiracy by CCP and its struggling economy. Never have instaled that app or created an accout there. Neither on Shein, or even Asos and similar. And my algorithms don't even dare to suggest some holow influncers showing their crazy spree.

Don't touch my gpt bot. Thanks to this tool I am weaning myself off Windows, with all their telemetry, cpu abuse with a high power consumption, running an efficient and debloated Linux. And that without embedded AI, that is now planning to take regular screenshots every 3-5 seconds, processing, and saving summary in a plain text. Hackers will go bananas to get their hands on all this data. Now THAT will lead to even higher energy consumption. The gpt bot is just a little critter in contrast to what Microsoft is pushing on us and the consequences related to it.
