@__.Music.__ not all EMR is ionising. Don't confuse physics.

They want an absolute control over you in the cars. And they can switch off any function from a distance if they want. You buy a car with certain features, but suddenly you have to pay a subscription to get it. Fraud.

In contrast, saw a pic saying that a family in the US got two cybertrucks... had a good laugh, over. that. PR.

Not waning to be condescending, but 'tiktok user' sounds like a diagnosis to me.

There was a joke going around, from the old Soviet era. A guy showing off with top tech watch on his wrist, showing time of many cities in the world. Then he bent in his knees to pick up two heavy suitcases by his sides before walking away. The companion asked him what was in those heavy suitcases. The watch man answered: batteries for the watch. Not saying battery aircraft is a good idea at this point in time, but see how far we have gone with technology. There might be some breakthrough in the future, and fossil fuel won't be here forever to be used at such a large scale as it is now. We need alternatives rather sooner than later.

Scottish Sun? When in the year can we see it? 😂

Re physics of charging: I am not from the field, but something is telling me (correct me someone if I am wrong) that a faster charge will have a greater heat loss (or some other loss) than if charging slower, i.e. the amount of energy provided will need to be higher for fast charging. That is my naive sense of it. Sometimes equations aren't as straightforward as changing a value of one variable will have a a directly proportional effect on the rest. Sometimes there needs to be an additional variable to adjust for a real outcome.

Melon is planning to bring a battery powered jet on the market. Will it also come with automatic detection of airport and self landing? What could go wrong?

EVs have issues, I get that. Right now we still have abundance of oil and its derivatives. But that won't last forever. What then? That's my question. Besides, this issue was unrelated to the truck being EV, right? So what is this about?

LMAO are you saying that kids are not taught MATHS at school these days? I have watched a few videos of yours recently, but only now you nailed your affiliation to the right wing with no doubt. Propaganda at its best. The criticism of EV flaws is great, but your comment on education is waaaaay off. Just because the kids cannot retain much from the lessons, due to Tiktok brain shrinkage, that is not the fault of schools, blaming them they don't try delivering education. It is the capitalism that makes their brains shrink - keeping them glued to the screens for profit of whoever is managing this circus.

Stellantis ... let them push, people avoid buying them! China made incredible amount of these cars that keep rotting on green field, decaying, rusting, batteries ageing... they are going to get scrapped. Don't buy Chinese cars, simple.

I have reservations regarding the Telegraph. I see it constantly bashes BBC as biased... but the T isn't biased, no.. only others are... especially the left wing. Even Chat GPT leans left! Scandalous! Biden is trying to stop China taking over American market by subsidised metal coffins and that is good. Nobody is pushing customers to buy EVs, just there will be less Chinese EVs than there otherwise would be. China is desperate to sell its excess stock they produced and nothing seems to be in their way. They might even make cheap EV more price attractive than standard cars. Biden is simply telling China h doesn't want their cars without telling them he doesn't want their cars. International relations are a delicate matter. Many on the right fail to understand it.

It isn't only about 'saving the planet', but also saving ourselves. The fossil hydrocarbons will once run out and then what? Pouring vodka into the tanks? Monocultures grown for biofuel already are endangering our food production and security if we keep going as we have been going. What alternative do we have than to figure out how to power our vehicles without fossils?
1
True, but that goes with any taxes or insurance. Even if you don't have kids, or you don't live to a ripe old age, your taxes help finance children or pensions of others. Your insurance helps covering accidents of others.

BYD: buy your d.eath. Electric coffins. Data collection and privacy don't go together.

Wasting time in the city traffic when you could go via bypass 😂😂😂. It turns out the EVs are better for city commuting, less air pollution, but for a proper travel go the traditional way, until the oil dries out in the ground, by which time we rather have a viable alternative in a wide use.

That EV rally... in winter you need to heat, in summer you need to cool. It is mid May and I had to put on the air con in my petrol car today when I sat into it after it was resting on the car park for half an hour. Neither too hot or too cold cage is good for driving.

My third and last comment here: I saw this 10 minute charging content on another social media. Before I found out it was coming from China I sensed it was a Chinese propaganda. Or a slopaganda as two guys call it who lived in China for years and had a first hand experience with the propaganda by CCP. Chinese govt is doing all it can to do the best PR of itself in the world, constantly showering social media with bombastic claims and naive fools swallow it with the fur. All that nonsense of speed rail, new train stations that start disintegrating the same year they were built, dams in unsuitable places, tofu dregs, human rights issues... Slopaganda only.

Not a huge fan of EVs as they are currently, but the shortage of trained staff to service/repair them can surely be fixed in a few years? That cannot be an argument against EVs, or any novelty product. Some things in life follow other things, in a logic sequence, not in the opposite scenario: having an army of trained mechanics with just a few EV cars on the market. A lot of problems will emerge with using the product that cannot be mass trained for in advance. Take it as a bumpy start over which we might laugh in the future... Even a kiddo falls countless times before it can run.

@northdakotaham1752 Good luck with remotely stopping me starting my engine or opening the window with a button on my old fashioned little car... The only bit connected to any network (from time to time) is my sat nav, from a different company. I can take it and keep it in the bag or take it into another car.

I hated touch screens when they replaced classic mobile phones. And I don't need excessive software on the road. I need simple functionality that is not sensitive to magnetic fields, rough terrain, weather, light conditions, hacking, network availbility, etc. Just bring back the buttons or I'll get a horse.

As I am listening how poorly the car is made. I recall a breakdown of finances, how Elon pays himself $billions in salary... that is money not invested into a quality product and sufficient workforce with expertise. Recently he announced the AI will surpass human intelligence by 2026. When it comes to his intelligence, the bots they call AI, supassed it 10 years ago.
1
Melon probably did what many corporations like to do: fire and rehire, at a lower salary than before. It is a common practice. He scraps for himself literally $billions each year, but he will push people to the limit for little pay.
