Thanks for this explanation. Even though VPN users would be of interest, if they don't do any illegal activity, they are safe. It's just secret services would waste time on them. On the other hand, if VPN isn't necessary, why paying for it? I have a tendency to resist what is constantly pushed down my throat, like countless channels promoting one VPN or another. I have it with my antivirus. I tried it, for like 5 minutes and then stopped using it. It made my internet sluggish. Using Tor is much more user friendly.
