I like how you ended it: The war is going to end one day and it won't end well for Russia. How I understand it, Putin has a vision and wants to push it at all cost. He is very determined to maintain Russia a country ruled by a firm hand, dictatorship, controlled and oppressed what disagrees. He isn't that smart to recognise that change always comes and nothing stays the same forever. The change always comes, even to Russia, sooner or later. He cannot stop it, prevent it, regardless of how much threats and ammo he throws at others recognising that changes are to be embraced and managed for the greater good, not senselessly resisted just to see it come anyway. Change always comes.
