  1. @@presidenteden6498 I am also a layman, but I understand that solid items don't tend to impolode like hollow ones. And as for the champagne bottles - there is also a pressure inside usually, maybe a flat wine would implode. And there is also a volume vs surface area ratio that may play important role. They also had corks pushed further inside... so there apparently was some equilibrium reached.

  2.  @mindfulawareness1  Cameron and also those in batyskaph in 1960s were in a globular vessel, where the pressure is coming from all directions equally. Their glass cracked, but it was pushed into itself, so win-win. The globe shape as ideal was also mentioned in the video. Watch it again.
