Like recovering 50% of previously captured land isn't enough? The thing is that RuSSia is running out of resources, whereas EU is ramping up support. Millions educated and skilled RuSSians fled their home, ending up in Europe and elsewhere, benefiting the economy not in RuSSia. It is a process. The economy figures from Kremlin are just a puff that will implode soon. Nobody knows the real stats of anything in RuSSia, whereas the west is quite transparent. RuSSia is likely in much worse state than we have hoped. Ukraine will prevail.

You are describing situation pre-elections. Now when Kremlin doesn't need to pamper public opinion and federal reserves are seeing the bottom, he will neither be able to subsidise as much. Plus the fuel shortages will show in prices of everything, including the agricultural output. And with a massive inflation import will be limited. Somnot only less able to import food, but less of it produced domestically, too.

Even if, RuSSian economy is in a free fall now. The more they focus on breaking others instead of keeping up with their own issues, the sooner they will reach the bottom.

Another thought: why people keep thinking that Israel has the right for the land it stole from Palestinians by pushing them away, destroying their homes, their farms, for decades, ever expanding its territory in violation of international laws? On what basis does Israel have the right to insist this territory is theirs? When RuSSia wants to do it, we all say a categorical NO. Why are we allowing Israel to keep doing it, even as we speak?

Ben says: you cannot kill your way out of this... is he finally speaking about Israelis? Back in around 1900 90% of Arabs and 8% of Jews lived in peace, next to each other in Palestine. Then the British decided they will control the area and after Arabs help Brits fight of Turks and Germans in WW1 they got betrayed and instead Zionists got the massive support to wipe out Arab population (even before the WW2, which explains why Arabs sided with Nazis, being attacked by Zionists) and they kept doing it ever since, increasing their territory... did they think, they can kill their way out of this? Entire families and villages were killed with automatic weapons, the new invention back then, supplied by west to the Zionists. Hundreds thousands Arab people were moved around like livestock (those not killed), finding themselves in the way of creating the artificial state of Israel. There was no democracy back then, 90% population in the area had no say into what will happen with their homeland and they were NOT consulted, on orders of the British ruling elite. Does Ben Hodges need a revision of history? Or are we supposed to conveniently forget it?
