  1. Birthday month? Bloody hell. I was 40 and didn't even throw a party. Boring. I buy mysef whatever and whenever during the year and it doesn't make me feel any different just because there is some specific day in calendar. I forbid my other half buying me flowers or chocolate. I don't like chocolate and flowers only make a mess when dying. I grow stuff outside to eat. And I am frugal, mending my stuff, even brought a 15 yo laptop back to life. I will never understand these people just forking out fortunes like if there was no tomorrow. Banks pay me for having money in their accounts, not the other way round. Mortgage is the only exception. Geez.
