Instead of praying why not do something useful instead? There’s no evidence that prayer is useful to anyone other than the person doing the praying.

T G Then why don’t you go give CPR to the dead people in refrigerated trucks in New York? Particularly the ones who supposedly died of COVID-19 in the last 12 hours. It might be they’re just playing dead so they can hijack a fleet of refrigerated trucks and start a mobile ice cream business. I haven’t found any evidence that says someone isn’t planing a scheme like this so I’m pretty sure it must be true. Anyone who says this isn’t the case should learn to respect other people’s beliefs.

Ahlam Kedir Just because someone is in Pakistan doesn’t mean their actions are no longer effective.

Is it true that if you get close enough to a person with coronavirus that the virus gets scared and runs away?

Danny Covarrubias Just because I don’t thank people for spreading mis-information doesn’t mean the phrase “thank you” has been eliminated.

Katera • Think whatever you want but the damage is done when people are implying that praying acts as a preventative measure for those you are praying for.

Ahlam Kedir They’re not obligated to help me as far as I know, I don’t know anything about their obligations. I’m just pointing out how damaging it can be to assume that prayer is an effective treatment for others when there is no evidence that it is effective. People may take less precautions if they are under the belief that they don’t need to wear protective gear if they have to come into contact with the public because someone on YouTube is praying for them. If people want to tell others they hope they are doing well that is completely different from involving something like prayer which has only been shown to occasionally provide benefits similar to meditation to the person doing the praying, not the person they are praying for. Meditating and wishing people well is a much less harmful alternative.

Do something useful please, there’s no evidence that praying for people helps the people you’re praying for. You’re spreading misinformation, it’s about the same as telling people that if they get really close to a person with coronavirus then the virus gets scared and runs away.

Lámpara a mis pies No, just the opposite. If we apply that kind of logic to an invisible enemy more people will die. We have to rely on what has been shown to work. What if all our doctors start thinking that chanting silly words will protect them from the virus so they don’t need to wear a hazmat suit? We would lose a LOT more doctors than we already are. Big BananaCongolese I’m not ridiculing people for having fair, I’m ridiculing people for ignoring logic.

Lámpara a mis pies Fear people with COVID-19 coming to sneeze on you.
1
Lámpara a mis pies “Fear people” need to use their brains to solve problems and if they have them, their eyes as well. How do you verify whether you are giving your eyes to a real lord or a scammer lord? The verification process is flawed.
1
Lámpara a mis pies About what? The verification process?
1
Lámpara a mis pies What is the verification process for determining a real lord from a fake lord?
1
Lámpara a mis pies That doesn’t verify anything. A scammer who is a fake lord can just copy and paste the same text.
1
Lámpara a mis pies I wasn’t asking for you to write out a formal proof (though if there is a formal proof feel free to direct me to the paper), just detail the verification process so people can avoid being scammed by a fake lord.
1
Lámpara a mis pies Yes, but how do you verify that you are in contact with a scammer or the thing you have faith in?
1
Lámpara a mis pies How do you know the devil is controlling my tongue as opposed an imposter and how do you know I have a tongue?
1
Lámpara a mis pies Your vocal cords are largely responsible for speech.

Not really, you can contract a virus in milliseconds without being conscious of it. Fear requires communicating specific conditions and then a brain processing and reacting to this. Fear develops over time and makes use of prior knowledge.

Some states aren’t as densely populated so despite their careless efforts it may not spread as quickly in some places.
