@JoeKyser It really depends on the type of video. If you’re quickly trying to find some obscure tutorial on how to fix something, you’ll often find a heavy dislike ratio is warranted when the video doesn’t solve the issue for most people or skips some important step.

I doubt it. Google goes where the money is. The money is in ads. They don’t want to show a bunch of ads to angry people because they’re less likely to convert. Google’s bigger than most of the entertainment business.

@huntershottakes8712 I wasn’t referring to celebs paying for being featured on YouTube. My point was, a small number of traditional media celebs alone are unlikely to have a substantial influence on product development decisions affecting Google’s bottom line long term. Google has historically gone by the aggregate of what makes the most dollars for them in the long run from the world, not a couple million dollars from some meaningless celebrity who wants ad space. Sure, they’ll take that ad revenue but it’s peanuts in the grand scheme of things.
