In the Old Testament God gave His moral law, the 10 Commandments. The punishment for breaking His moral law was death. But God so loved the world He sent His son to pay the penalty for all of the worlds sin (breaking the law). Now all you have to do is believe in and follow Jesus, who told us to bring peace and let vengeance be Gods not mans. Why have people continue carrying out Gods punishments for breaking the law when Jesus has willingly paid the fine for everyone so everyone can live forever. The message Jesus brought was considered blasphemy because He essentially said to stop all that because He has made a different way, thats why they killed Him. But honestly reading the Old Testament only made me understand God better and even feel sorry for Him. Its like one story after another of God saying trust me ive got you just follow my commands and then people being like meh, no im going to do what i want instead and wreaking all kinds of havoc and as they did that the world just got worse and worse. You cant just pick out a single line that sounds horrible and leave out all that context.

Ive never understood why adults would teach this “no snitching” nonsense and purposely raise a child/eventual adult to just never say anything because “snitching is bad.” That makes no sense at all. Yet we wonder why weve got a whole lot of people seeing evil things being done right in front of them and saying nothing. Dont raise kids NOT TO SAY ANYTHING, raise them to be able to judge WHEN TO SAY SOMETHING. Children need to be taught discernment a lot more then parents dont need to be bothered by kids tattling over something stupid or of no consequence.
