@HeyHolly14 ⁠The objective logical lense would have been rewriting the law so gay people wouldnt be deprived the benefits of marital status in legal/social aspects while leaving the institution of marriage itself, which is derived from the Abrahamic religion, alone wouldnt it? Like instituting into law a civil union that would apply legal rights as marriage does? Idk i just think it doesnt make sense to hijack a religious tradition from the people who believe in it as a matter of Gods law and forcibly turning it into a strictly societal concept/institution. Kind of like taking Christmas and making it about santa clause and jingle bells so everyone can participate and then telling Christians we cant say Merry Christmas anymore because its politically incorrect.
