The truth is a lot of the people who refuse to make the pledge are people who hate the concept of the United States of America and what's written in its constitution (generally speaking) and to those people I say, if you are so against all that, move somewhere else more akin to your political beliefs, get their citizenship and completely drop the US one. Let the United States be for those citizens who actually love the US
