Jimmy, I have a factual example of what it is to have "Medicare for all".
In Puerto Rico we have had "la tarjetita de salud" since the 90s because the governor there was trying to imitate Hillary Clinton's health reform from that decade, and since all we ever do in the island is copy whatever someone comes up with in the main land, we actually passed it and it's been active ever since.
The way it started was you had to select a primary care doctor, and if you need to see a specialist, he would either approve or disapprove your request to see a specialist, you couldn't just go directly to see the specialist, and that still holds up to this day, so you have to wait even longer to be seen for something that is ailing you just because you have to schedule two appointments instead of one, not to mention that the specialist you want to see has to be one of the doctors that actually accepts la tarjetita de salud. Something that changed was that in the past you could get the best medication for the treatment, as in the branded ones, but when that became impossible to pay, they switched to the generic ones.
La tarjetita de salud was supposed to be for low income families/people only, but even those who made a good amount of money (not necessarily a lot) but were originally unbelievable, found a way to "be elegible" because it was "free" as opposed to them having to pay for their own private plan, thus effectively making la tarjetita de salud into "Medicare for all".
All of what I previously mentioned is a big part of the reason why Puerto Rico is bankrupt, and that's not even mentioning other social programs for "special groups" there, but once you give someone something "free" you can never take it away no matter how bad it is for the economy, yet since la tarjetita de salud became unpayable using the local money/taxes, they have kept it running thanks to federal funds taken from the nation's income tax (puertoricans/US citizens residing in the island don't pay federal income tax), so the US tax payer has in recent years been subsidizing a welfare program for people that don't contribute to the nation's federal income tax just so they can get a subpar service they can't maintain at a local level and is a big part of the reason why the island is bankrupt and will likely never be able to pay back it's debt since most young people are fleeing the island and moving to states like Florida.
But you Jimmy, want to bring this "amazing program" into the mainland... Good luck.
