@Nuggetsin4 Maybe he didn't understand she was upset about her coworker's death. He could have changed his behavior because he now understood she was upset and felt bad for her. I could see myself doing that and I have Autism. I would not be able to fake it well if I was just trying to please her.

I am Autistic and have empathy but I don't know what to say or how to show my feelings the right way.

They misdiagnosed me with DID. I am now diagnosed with PTSD and Autism.

I am the same as you. I have Autism. My 73 year old mother was diagnosed with BPD but I think she has Autism. I was formerly diagnosed with BPD. I think they misdiagnosed both of us with BPD.

@mrs.reluctant4095 I disagree. Therapy for Autism is different than therapy for Borderline Personality. If you have Bipolar they will recommend medicine. Since the treatment is different for each diagnosis having the correct diagnosis matters. I have been diagnosed with all three of those disorders myself. I still am diagnosed with Autism and Bipolar Disorder. No matter what you are diagnosed with you are still you!

Extreme male brain causing Autism is an outdated theory.

I have ASD and PTSD without having a cluster B diagnosis. Also most people with a cluster B diagnosis do not have Autism.
2
@Alf258 I was diagnosed with BPD but it was because the Autism and PTSD were confusing them.

@carlosbushm Yes, you can have ASD co-morbid with Narcissism or Antisocial Disorder.

@therespectedlex9794 Autistic people are known for having social problems, "Come on man!"

I have Autism and I learned so much about people by reading fiction. I would have a much harder time relating to people if I hadn't read so much. My boyfriend couldn't understand fiction though.

Yes. You can have ASD, BPD and ADHD.

Autism is more prevalent because they only used to diagnose severe cases and now they diagnose moderate and mild cases too.

@shannonmayer18 That is possible also.

@ethanpoole3443 I think Autism and BPD can overlap on intense mood swings and self harm.
