  4. DARE for me in 1989 was just an assembly once a year telling us not to use drugs and a red ribbon for each of us that said, "The Choice for me Drug Free". We were required to wear the ribbons for a day or two. One girl scratched off the "Fr". She was a "Drug ee".

  8.  @LonelyCinderella123  No refined sugar = people with very few cavities. My mom didn't take us to the dentist and never made us brush our teeth. We ate health food and NO SUGAR. After 7 years I had no cavities.

  34.  @blackt0wer  Not all poor people can get Medicaid. A lot of red states didn't sign up for the expansion. Anyway, this happened a while time ago when fewer poor people had Medicaid. Paying for health care was also difficult for some middle class families.

  39.  @Looshfarmer  My nephew, now age 9 was on a 2 year Autism waiting list to be diagnosed in the USA. If you are an adult in our state then you get put on a waiting list for the waiting list. Adults in the UK wait less than children in the USA for an Autism assessment. (At least where I live.)

  43.  @downfromthereeefters  I live a few hundred miles from the Mexican border in the USA and many people go to Mexico for cheaper health care. Most of the USA is far from a border so people can't easily get cheaper care.
