@almeraserieses5854 He is mentally ill but he has been physically harming his mother and others. So he is abusing his mother even if he doesn't fully realize it.

@crystalidx I believe in locking violent people up. I am mentally ill and think we should help mentally ill people as much as possible. But if someone is dangerous then something has to be done.

@crystalidx I live in the USA and have been in the mental hospital 40+ times. Many patients are nice but not all. I was in the teen hospital with some murderers. One of them threatened to kill me. Most patients are not so scary though.

@minaaris Mentally ill people are more likely than the average person to be violent if they aren't treated. The USA had mentally ill people chained to the wall (in the 1950's and earlier) until we had medication.

@crystalidx I am not talking about psychopaths. Mentally Ill people can be dangerous. I have been in psychiatric hospitals with them. Most mentally ill people are not dangerous but the ones who are shouldn't be walking the streets when they are dangerous.

@mimi_elk.7614 I suspect that they have no money to treat the patients and are desperate. They chain violent patients who have no medicine. Should they let the patient free to harm someone else? Yemen is in a war. Not many doctors want to work in a war zone and not get paid. Edit: I hope they do get help so they can unchain the patients. It is very sad.

@universesalgoodnessofgoodlove I know many mentally ill people who are less evil than normal. A few are more evil. Any person can be evil whether they are mentally ill or not.

@universesalgoodnessofgoodlove No someone prefering to abuse others is not mental illness. Many criminals who are not mentally ill abuse others. Many people who are mentally ill don't abuse others. Mental illnesses are changes in moods or behaviors that impact your everyday life.

Don't lie. I have been in 4 mental hospitals in my state (NM) alone. USA is short on mental health hospitals but we still have them. My state is small in population. We have more than 4.

@andresc1143 If you are mentally ill in the USA you have rights. This includes the right to avoid mental hospital and medications unless dangerous. Sometimes that means you have the "right" to be homeless.

Government would have to create the program most employers don't want to hire the mentally ill. And they wouldn't get much work out of the sickest people. When people are in their own world it is hard for them to focus.
