Most mentally ill people aren't violent. So the test would be pretty useless. Also being high on certain drugs could cause you to act the same way.

@PistolArrow76 And only violent mentally ill people? Or all mentally ill people? You do know alcoholics and drug addicts are more violent than the mentally ill? So maybe you should just suggest to round up all violent people regardless of type instead of mainly non-violent people. Edit: I added in the word "mainly".

@FalloutGenius1 People with Antisocial Personality Disorder (which is the official diagnosis for people called psychopaths or sociopaths) is a mental illness. They are not always violent but can be very violent. There are so many mental disorders that Antisocial people are a minority.

@unapologeticallyamy9031 Where I live that man would have been hospitalized or jailed as soon as he hurt someone. He may or may not have been let free for a threat though. My friend's husband was hospitalized for squeezing his elderly mother too tightly.

@cheycheyfriend247 I know that drug users are not inherently violent. Using drugs or alcohol makes you more likely to be violent but it certainly doesn't guarantee it. Obviously better treatment for addiction would decrease violence.

@cheycheyfriend247 Really? I have met people who were much more violent especially while on alcohol. Most alcoholics are not violent but some are.

@juresichj I think the police have a lot of problems that need to be addressed. I won't call them all bad because I don't think they are all bad and calling them all bad is not going to help them improve.

@thelanktheist2626 Some cocaine episodes are indistinguishable from a psychotic episode. The guy was wearing a helmet and kneepads which is pretty weird but they still let him on the plane. It could be a brain tumor. It could be something else entirely. I don't think we know enough yet to say what made him act this way.
