@brownskin1oo I just stated the opposite of your point. To be in the relevant profession, one needs to meet a certain threshold of intelligence (i.e. "smarts"). Meeting said threshold gives a plethora of reasons to suspect that, due to his intelligence (&c.), he would also meet the conditions of cognitive ability for various cognitively-demanding fields. I don't see much of a reason to expect Joe to meet the threshold—or moreso meet this mans level of intellect in general. I think you're mixing up "knowledge" with "intelligence". I can be knowledgable about water balloons, but this doesn't necessarily make me smart — being a physicist, however, practically by nature demands high intelligence. This man (video) specifically is even endowed in other ventures and fields, so it follows. What reasons do you have which lend credit to Joe being as smart or smarter?

@brownskin1oo I doubt Joe has the aptitude to be a professional in a physics field.

@brownskin1oo No, they're not. > having or showing a quick-witted intelligence. > intelligence; acumen. > having or showing a high degree of mental ability : INTELLIGENT, BRIGHT > having or showing quick intelligence or ready mental capability: > intelligent, or able to think quickly or intelligently in difficult situations: Most any traditional definition is similar in this context. Even in, say, the field(s) of psychometrics (&c.), "intelligence" and "smart(s)" are often interchangeable.
