  8. Interesting about the discussion about Bernie. Rogan was supporting Bernie before so I think what some of the disappointment (where probably among others also reflect in the number of non-voters) is with the democrats, if they think that "established democrats" undermined his campaign. I've seen similar comments about some democrats who are critical against Momani, that they're democrats to official label only but vote for typical republican views. On LIBERALS. Now, I am a European and "liberal" here is typical a center right view. Allowing you "to be who you are" (to some extent) but also promoting extensive deregulation. Which can be good but also allowing to those who do not wish to be "who they are" if they are dirt poor, having poor health, perhaps discriminated and/or being taken advantage of if lacking resources and means to adress various wrongdoings (like being screwed over in various contract situations). Doing away with various institutions that serve for check, control and prevention would be a liberal policy in a European perspective. For instance food safety standards and some instance to do random checks that these are followed, in the 19th century they could for instance mix plaster in the flour to make it heavier and whiter, then some more could be mixed in by the baker and of course people suffered and kids and other vulnerable probably died. The left in Europe would not be in favour of uncontrolled immigration to favour job opportunities that can't provide a sustainable salary. A liberal would suggest that housing regulations need to be laxed, if people can live in windowless basements with several families in a room then really low salaries are "affordable" and we all be happy and could by both a kebab with a soda and have our nails done for next to nothing. But also here in Europe there have been some emergence of populist/extremist parties (which is not necessary the same as smaller parties that have a few core issues). And it has typically been precedent by lowered voting numbers. Where I live (Sweden) they used to count blank ballots specifically (as a form of vote of disappointment) but now they are lumped with "invalid votes" (so when parties started to mimic eachothers' policies they can always declare the presumptive voter as "stupid" (by casting an invalid vote) or "lazy"(for not being arsed to go and register they cast a ballot). While in reality it is perhaps a lazy mess or stupidity among the dominating established parties that are preoccupied by fabricating "testballons" that look just like the opponents?
