  1. Low birthrates in the west is a problem given the proportion of older people who should have pensionpayments relative to the size of the future workforce who should deliver in the money to it. But...USA has quite a shameful infant death rate related to the GDP per capita the nation has. In some states (republican of course) the infant death rate is almost five times higher than in Sweden, where the GDP per capita is about 67% of the US level. It does appear as if Robert Arnold is right when he said that a lot of these pro-lifers in reality is only birth fetischists because they don't care at all about those lives as soon as they are born. Now I am not a "baby person" in specific but infant deaths is a typical thing that is viewed when measuring how good a nation is doing.
