  1. It is big business here in Sweden also where we have subsided healthcare. But being big is not bad in itself. It can be an advantage given that trials and studies require resources in form of skilled personnel and advanced tech if they should be of any quality. What could be improved is regulation, registration and accessability to the results, (including the studies that have been started but interrupted, or studies that have been done but never published as such could provide a variety of insight also) as Ben Goldacre writes in his "Bad Pharma".
