Darren Mcgarvey (rapper name Loki) wrote about his upbringing in one of Glasgows most rundown areas in his book "Poverty safari"" and he touches upon the poor health that so often is correlated. the stress of course but also the criminality and addiction that can get a hold when people kind of feel hopeless as some delusional dream of getting something, stuff. He is quite eloquent and observant even if a bit cynical and critiques labour as well as tories where the latter often come with austerity policies that is designed to discipline people to improvement while you can't pull the hair of a bald man so to say but he also criticques typical labour projects that are poorly designed and often overly simplistic where they haven't sort of done the ground work thus it look more as deigned to keep administrators employed to send unemployed to programs,control them and sanction them. he has a sense of humour about it and he is also critical about the person he used to be (which is perhaps not all his fault, he lost his mom to drug abuse at age 16 or so so ther for sure was inadequae guidance at the start in his life). But the poor health does of course not only lead to premature deaths but also early retirements, maybe disability if the conditions get bad enough
