  1. They may be racist but it's not necessary that they (especially MTG) are commenting on fake hair and nails out of envy. By that I don't imply that MTG is a beauty queen or even that she'd aspire to be one, just that among some it is not a sign of status while it is among other groups in society seem to hold more status the more obvious falsies in hair, lashes and nails as possible. There are white folks who use all sorts of falsies as well as there is black people who absolutely do not use it. MAGA Benny Johnson made some clip once of female cross-fit athletes implying they don't look of "conservative femininity". They looked like MTG, maybe somewhat more muscular. So it's not a democrat or conservative thing. You could for instance find nurses or other staff in healthcare of any colour that would wrinkle their nose about false nails, or nail varnish that may hide grime under the nails.
