While I think the arrest look awful and there should be some legal trial. But when I hear she has been in USA to study for nine years, she should have a doctor's degree by that time...???

@pompous-plum They said she has been in USA for nine years (on student visa?) which seem a bit peculiar and could perhaps suggest she's engaging in other things than studying.

I would guesstimate that most who go to USA to study aren't doing it for nine years and still studying? In that time an average student would have their basic degree and a doctor's degree. Not even if the pandemic happened in that time.

@lamoinette23 I'm not part of Tufts (many of the dieticians sponsored by junk food companies have their degrees from Tufts) but nine years as stated in the video seem like a long time to be on a student visa. I live in Europe where we don't have such a remarkable university as Tufts, but we also don't have a population where about 50% suffer from obesity.

@lamoinette23 I live in Sweden and we sometime have invitations for foreign students that are part of government subsided foreign aid programs. They are supposed to study something that be useful for their homecountries' development, be it in medicine, engineering or agricultural. Frequently it so happens that their departments like them to be able to stay or give them other misguided advice while it's even more difficult for that category to be able to change their category of permit (some say it's cruel but it would be unethical to allow a form of "brain drain" to developing countries to offer them scholarships and not having them return when they're done with their education).
